Peyman A.
Peyman A. was, born in Bandar Abbas, Iran and raised in Tehran, its’ capital city. As a student, he became very interested in the sciences and pursued an education in Applied Chemistry, after which he served two years of mandatory military service.
In 2017, Peyman began working with a veterinarian friend, who had offered to mentor Peyman in a veterinary assistant program. Very soon thereafter, he realized he was interested in working with pets, and that’s how it all began.
While the vet clinic didn’t offer pet grooming services to the public, the veterinarian would do simple grooming tasks on his own. He taught Peyman how to use the basic tools of the grooming trade so he could take on some simple grooming tasks. As time went on, Peyman became extremely interested in a career as a groomer and used online education to learn new styles and creative grooming. He also volunteered his time to work with animal shelters to bathe, vaccinate and treat animals for ticks.
With time he created a style that no one in Iran was using for pet grooming and his clients would travel for miles to have him groom their pets. As his client base grew, he turned to grooming education and was training new groomers through his own mentorship program. Shortly after, Peyman opened his own grooming salon and continued to teach other students. His reputation soon preceded him and he became a recognized figure in the pet grooming field.
In 2023, Peyman was married and he and his wife decided to migrate to Canada for a better life. He moved to Montreal in 2024, where he worked for a few months to familiarize himself with the Canadian culture, in anticipation of his family joining him soon thereafter. He moved to Halifax in 2024 because, after growing up in the crowded capital city of Iran, he prefers smaller, less populated cities without the hustle & bustle and grid-locked traffic.
Peyman was immediately hired by Posh Paws Fur Cause when he moved to Halifax, where he continues to learn new styles and build his customer base. His customers are very pleased with his excellent grooming skills and he is quickly becoming well-known amongst dog owners in our community.
Peyman’s interests include traveling, swimming, and cooking (he enjoys bringing Iranian dishes in for the staff to try – he is a very good cook). His favorite breed to groom are curly coated dogs (specifically Poodles, Doodles and Portuguese Water Dogs, of all shapes and sizes). He is also a masterful groomer of Shih Tzu’s, Maltese, Westies and Schnauzers.
Peyman lives in Dartmouth with his wife and his two dogs, Fidel and Delphi.
